Gary Crowell
Gary Crowell is a spirits consultant based in Marfa, Texas. He most likely inherited his love of distilling from his great-grandmother, Dora Ainsworth, who made bathtub gin during Prohibition. Over the past 12 years, he has helped bring seven spirits brands to market while co-owning three different distilleries.
The visionary behind Deep Eddy Vodka, Gary helped assemble the team that first brought sweet tea vodka to Texas from his hometown of Charleston, SC. He is also Managing Director of L D A and co-founder of Nine Banded Whiskey, Goodnight Loving Vodka, FIX Vodka, and Landry Distillery.
Before launching some of Austin's most beloved spirits brands, Gary in network infrastructure design and sales, and before that a custom home builder. He makes a killer dirty martini and is currently on the hunt for his next motorcycle.
“It has been my absolute pleasure and privilege to work with Gary on numerous projects in the alcoholic beverage space. Gary is completely knowledgeable, result-focused, practical and, yet, creative. He is a major value add as a consulting CEO or COO to any brand lucky to work with him.”

Gary + Le at Chinati Weekend 2021
“…And if a brand is really smart, it will also engage with Leigh, Gary’s wife and partner. Leigh is a consummate beverage professional and, in my opinion, the top branding, social media, creative and cultural consultant I have ever worked with. She is totally dedicated, brilliant, a witty problem-solver, and simply a lot of fun to work with. Together Gary and Leigh are my go-to professionals in the business.”

Leigh Villers
Much like her husband and business partner, Leigh Villers has been guided by a fair amount of vocational ADD throughout her career. Prior to founding Legal Drinking Agency in 2018, she was an ethical fashion marketing director, a Big Pharma loyalty program associate director, and owner of a lifestyle boutique named after Factory Records.
Leigh's lifelong obsession with pop culture, art, travel, and music infuses her projects with a unique point of view. She is meticulous in distilling the entrepreneurial vision into an aspiration brand experience that people will care about. If you asked her what her favorite part of any project is, she’d say it’s connecting the dots from the founder’s life story all the way to the customer’s liquor store experience.
Managing the chaos that comes with a brand launch is Leigh's superpower though. She hasn't met a calendar, PM tool, or label maker she doesn't like. When she isn't Zooming with clients, Leigh can usually be found with a dark rum daiquiri or mezcal sour in hand planning her next adventure.
